I see violence and riots in the city, surrounding it day and night, filling it with crime and trouble.  There is destruction everywhere; the streets are full of oppression and fraud.  If it were an enemy making fun of me, I could endure it; if it were an opponent boasting over me, I could hide myself from him.  But, it is you, my companion, “MY COLLEAGUE AND CLOSE FRIEND”.  We had intimate talks with each other and “WORSHIPED TOGETHER IN THE TEMPLE”.

May my enemies die before their time; may they go down alive into the world of the dead!  Evil is in their homes and in their hearts.  BUT, I CALL TO THE LORD GOD FOR HELP, and he will save me.  Morning, noon and night my complaints and groans go up to him and he will hear my voice.  HE WILL BRING ME SAFELY BACK FROM THE BATTLES THAT I FIGHT AGAINST SO MANY ENEMIES.

GOD WHO HAS RULED FROM ETERNITY, WILL HEAR ME AND DEFEAT THEM; FOR THEY REFUSE TO CHANGE AND THEY DO NOT FEAR HIM.  My former companion attacked his friends; he broke his promises.  HIS WORDS WERE SMOOTHER THAN CREAM, BUT THERE WAS HATRED IN HIS HEART; HIS WORDS WERE AS SOOTHING AS OIL BUT THEY CUT LIKE “SHARP SWORDS”.

I’m in trouble, God–Listen to my prayer!   I am afraid of my enemies–Save my life!  PROTECT ME FROM THE PLOTS OF THE WICKED, FROM MOBS OF EVIL PEOPLE.  They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like arrows. DON’T “EVER” DWELL ON NEGATIVE THOUGHTS.  DWELLING ON NEGATIVE THOUGHTS IS A”TRICK OF THE DEVIL” AND A TOOL HE USES TO KEEP YOU IN A CONFUSED AND UNHEALTHY STATE OF MIND.  YOU MUST TEACH, PRACTICE, TRAIN, YOURSELF TO “FOCUS” ON THE THINGS THAT GOD’S WORDS TELL YOU TO FOCUS ON, ALSO MEDITATE AND THINK ON THESE THINGS AT ALL TIMES.  AS A RESULT OF ACCOMPLISHING AND CONSTANTLY USING THIS PROCESS, YOU WILL GAIN PEACE OF MIND, LIVE A HAPPIER MORE CONTENT, GOD CONTROLLED AND PROTECTED LIFE.

We spend hours and hours dwelling and MEDITATING ( THINKING FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME ) on the negative and fearful things in our lives. We worry about what could go wrong, instead of focusing and paying attention to the rational, the positive and the good.  We should train ourselves to focus on thoughts that will move us forward in the right direction.  Read one of these statements to yourself every day — and dwell on it.  It’s about time we started paying attention to what is rational and right, according to God’s words.

If you pay attention to the darkness, you will never find the light.

If you study and relive your past experiences, analyzing them, and “getting in touch with your feelings”, you will only reinforce those feelings.  If you want to get away from a problem, you should not focus on it.  Focus on what is rational, the positive, the beautiful, and the nice.

A contented person is fully caught up in the moment –and is not thinking about the past or the future.

Too much thinking and analyzing just makes any problem worse.  Today is a wonderful day – live it in the present. { PSALMS  118: 24 } THIS IS THE DAY WHICH THE LORD HAS MADE; WE WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT.

Why do little children think ghosts, goblins, and monsters are real?  As adults, we know they aren’t.  Your thoughts aren’t “real” either in the sense that you “create” and reinforce them — and the emotions that go along with them.  Your thoughts are only what you decide to believe in and continually reinforce in your mind.  (This one is deep – think about this one.)

For example, you are sitting alone in the dark in your home.  You are down, depressed and thinking gloomy thoughts.  All of a sudden the phone rings and it’s a friend you haven’t talked to in years.  You become alert, your mood picks up, and you have a nice conversation.  Then, after you’ve hung up, you get blue again and fall back into a depressed mood.  Why?

Suggestion: Even though we don’t feel it – we have more power over our thoughts than we think.  We can decide to stay “up” after the phone call by doing whatever it takes to keep from slipping back into the quicksand of rumination and despair.  Cognitive-behavioral therapy, when done appropriately,  gives us the tools and strategies to move away from anxiety and depression – and eventually to stay or “be” that way.

If your thoughts begin to change, you will feel better.

If you act rationally, despite how you are feeling, your beliefs and emotions will follow behind.

There is so much in life I can’t control.  But this is my life and I’ve decided to be happy.  I can choose to be happy regardless of my other circumstances.  It’s not “when I get a promotion, I’ll be happy…..” or “when I can speak in front of a small group of people, I’ll be happy…..”  The focus should be on learning to be happy now.  Tap into your inner peace and contentment in the way that works best for you.

Happiness is a result of a decision to be happy.

Your emotions and feelings are created by your thoughts.

Unhappiness cannot exist on its own.  It occurs because of thoughts, which can be changed.

Your past thoughts are about events that are no longer real.  That bad experience happened yesterday (in the past) and is over.  It is gone and exists solely in your mind.  Today is a new day, a better day, and worrying about the past just dooms us in the present.  It’s how you process it now that makes a difference.

You are a thought-producing machine.  When you realize this, you can begin to slow your thoughts down and allow your anxieties and fears to rest.

Your automatic negative thoughts (ANTs) are only thoughts: they are not real.  Your ANTS are not real.  They do not tell you the truth.

Our tendency is to think TOO MUCH and to paralyze ourselves with our ruminations.  We have a choice: Realize what we’re doing to ourselves, get up, find a distraction, and do something interesting (positive).

Happy people understand that to enjoy life you “live” it — you don’t “think” about it.

Watch a roomful of preschool children.  They are enjoying life because they are focused on the moment and are not thinking about it.  They are immersed and absorbed in living.

Analysis creates paralysis.

Anticipatory anxiety killing you?  Stop thinking about it, take that step, and do it.

Thoughts grow with attention.  If you focus on negative thoughts, they will grow and grow and become even larger.  If you focus on your progress and the new thoughts you are learning, they will grow stronger and take “automatic” control.

Even if you understand and know why you have a problem, this will not help you in solving it.  Going over and over the reasons for your problem is like pouring salt in an open wound.

The only factor making you unhappy is your own thoughts.  Relax, release them, let them go.

When you notice self-limiting and self-defeating thoughts playing over and over in your mind, say “STOP!  I will not give you any more power over me!  I have better things to do!!”

                 Best Answer:  Renewing the mind is filling your mind with God’s truths. When you renew your mind, it helps you put on the armor of God. Satan is very real and wants to throw his fiery darts at you, which in your case might be the flashbacks you can experience. Satan loves to lie and accuse. I’m not sure what your flashbacks are, but if they are pass sins, than we know that God forgives all sins, so we know that is one of Satan’s lies. If we take every thought captive with the mind of Christ we can live free from the guilt, worry, and fear imposed on us from Satan and others.
The bible says we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against principalities, things in high places, things unseen. We are not fighting against ourselves or others, we are fighting against things in the spiritual world, and there’s only one way to win the battle, that is to renew the mind with God’s word and to be filled with the SPIRIT, GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT.. We are to think about things that are pure and of good report, anything other than that is a lie from Satan, we are to live free lives, filled with love, peace, joy.

We take those thoughts captive, and claim God’s truth, we are able to reisst Satan’s lies. guess what happens when we resist Satan’s lies, he flees from us. Ask God to fill you with the Spirit of TRUTH. if you ask and pray in the Spirit, you shall receive.

Renewing your mind means that you remind yourself daily what you are according to the word of God, thinking pure and a whole lot of oher things. For example, I am beautifully and wonderfull made. I am the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, more than conquers through jesus christ our lord. I’m blessed in my coming in and going out, and the like. When negativity comes, such as your past, it’s the enemy trying to discourage you, you must be quick to identify that, and continue on enouraging yourself in the lord. and let the devil know that the past is the past, and you are a new creature in jesus christ. That is how you renew your mind.
You can renew your mind by thinking positive and different then you have in the past. What the bible refers to is, to start thinking the way God wants us to think. Study his word, let his thoughts become your thoughts.
Have you ever payed close attention to who God choses to use?  backsliders, drug dealers, all that have found the good Lord.  Yes, we are to have a renewed mind but he can’t use us to help others if we were always perfect failure is the only way he can because through your experince you can teach someone else.

God’s Word vs. Your Feelings

Every day, we are faced with a decision: Will we respond to life’s circumstances according to God’s Word or will we react emotionally? The initial temptation is to react emotionally, but in every circumstance, it’s truly your decision.

Let’s examine three circumstances you’re going to have to face at some point in your life. I’ve also included some questions to ask yourself, which I encourage you to answer honestly. They will give you a good idea of how big a part your feelings play in these circumstances.

Circumstance #1: Change

Everything changes except God, and letting all the changes in our lives upset us won’t keep them from occurring. People change, circumstances change, our bodies change, our desires and passions change.

Most changes take place without our permission. But we can choose to adapt. Adapting doesn’t change the circumstances, but it does keep you living in peace and joy as you go through change.

First Things First

Our thoughts are the first thing we need to deal with during change because thoughts directly affect emotions. When circumstances change, make the transition mentally, and your emotions will be a lot easier to manage. If something changes that you are not ready for and did not choose, you will more than likely have a variety of emotions about it.

The Power of God’s Word

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE THINK OUR PRAYERS ARE UNANSWERED

All of us have had experiences when it didn’t look like our prayers were answered. But is that really what happened? The Bible says in Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Is that true? Well, many people say it couldn’t mean what it appears to say, because they can cite experiences where they asked for something and didn’t receive. But you’ve got to make the decision stated in Romans 3:4, to “Let God be true, but every man [or in this case, every circumstance] a liar.” God’s Word is true, not our experiences.

 

This is one of the reasons so much doctrinal division has come about. The Word is clear in its doctrine, but when someone tries the Word and doesn’t see the promised results, rather than admit that they could have failed, they say something like, “That must have passed away with the apostles” or “It must not have been God’s will,” etc. God is not the one who failed to answer, but rather we are the ones who have failed to receive.

What actually happens when we ask in prayer is that God moves immediately and gives us the answer in our spirits. We are responsible for believing that, and  acting accordingly to bring the answer into the physical world. God is a spirit (John 4:24), and He always supplies our answer to our spirit man. Through faith, we then give physical substance (Heb. 11:1) to what God has done.

We are like a spiritual transformer. Spiritual power has to be converted to physical power just as radio signals have to be converted into frequencies audible  to our physical ear. You don’t hear the actual signal broadcast by the radio station, but rather a signal that has been picked up by a receiver and translated  into an audible sound. For a person to say that there aren’t any radio signals where they are, just because they cannot hear them, is not true. They are there,  but they are on a higher frequency than the human ear can hear. They have to be “demodulated” into a lower frequency which we can hear.

This is the way our answers to prayer come. God moves in the spirit world and gives us our answer by faith, and we convert it into a physical reality through our actions. That is not to say that we are the one who produced the answer by our own power. It is God who works the miracles, but they do come through us. Without Him, we can do nothing, but He has made us joint heirs together with Christ so that He does nothing without us. Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, ACCORDING TO THE POWER THAT WORKETH IN US” (emphasis mine). We have a part to play in receiving from God. Ignorance of this has been our greatest problem.

Now you can understand much more clearly what Mark 11:24 means, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” You receive in your spirit by faith immediately, and it shall come to pass in the physical later. It may be one minute, one day, or one year, but you cannot waiver in your belief that God has already answered your prayer. The time that it takes for God’s answer to be manifest in the physical is dependent upon many things, but it is not God who determines that. God answers immediately. Remember, it says you must believe that you receive WHEN YOU PRAY. God isn’t asking you to believe something that isn’t true. You do receive instantly in your spirit, then it is manifest in the physical later.

An example of this is in Daniel 9 and 10. In chapter 9, Daniel prayed a prayer, and while he was still praying, his answer to prayer came in the form of Gabriel giving him “skill and understanding” in the thing he desired. That’s a quick answer to prayer, but in verse 23, Gabriel says that God had sent him forth at the beginning of his prayer. God moved instantly, but it took about 3 minutes for the answer to appear in the physical realm. In Daniel chapter 10, he prayed another prayer, and his answer took three full weeks to manifest. What a difference!

Most people would say, “I wonder why God answered that first prayer in three minutes, and the second prayer took three weeks. But in Daniel 10:12, we find that God answered the second prayer instantly too. Praise God! The Lord was not the variable. In this case, it was a demonic force, “the prince of the kingdom of Persia,” that had hindered the answer to Daniel’s prayer.

Whether it be Satan or people’s wills or unbelief or any of a number of other possible hindrances, it’s important that you know that it’s not God who seems so unpredictable (Ps. 102:27, Mal. 3:6). In fact, this is a fundamental truth that you must be established in before you can even begin.
