Your Obedience To God

      We all “must be obedient to God”.  We must obey God’s words just as children should obey their parents when they request something of them.  In the bible, { Colossians 3:20 }tells us: “Children, obey your parents in all things; for this is well pleasing unto the Lord”.  To obey, is to carry out the commands, or comply with an order or request from someone.  In the life of a Christian, {   a believer in Jesus Christ } we need to know that we MUST carry out the commands and request of God, in the name of Jesus.  God’s words tell us in { Romans 5:19 } “For as by one man’s disobedience (” Adam” /Adam and Eve ) many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one ( Jesus Christ ) shall many be made righteous.

To give you another example of why we must obey God, let’s look at this fact: Jesus had to be obedient to God although, at one point during his great suffering before he was crucified on the cross. { Today’s Good News Bible, Matthew 26: 36- 42 }  Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray”.   Jesus took with him, Peter and the two sons of a man called  Zebedee.  Grief and anguish came over Jesus, and he said to them, “THE SORROW IN MY HEART IS SO GREAT THAT IT ALMOST CRUSHES ME.” Stay here and keep watch with me.

Jesus went a little farther on, threw himself face downward on the ground, and prayed, “MY FATHER, IF IT IS POSSIBLE TAKE THIS CUP OF SUFFERING FROM ME!  YET NOT WHAT I WANT, BUT WHAT YOU WANT.  Then Jesus returned to the three disciples and found them asleep; and he said to Peter, “How is it that you three were not able to keep watch with me even for one hour?  Keep watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation.  “THE SPIRIT IS WILLING, BUT THE FLESH IS WEAK.”

Once more Jesus went away and prayed, “MY FATHER, IF THIS CUP OF SUFFERING CANNOT BE TAKEN AWAY UNLESS I DRINK IT, YOUR WILL BE DONE.”  The cup, that Jesus was speaking of, was the” great suffering” leading up to, and during the time of his “Crucifixion” and the crucifixion itself.  From the example that you’ve just been given, we all should be able to see now, just how important obedience is.  Think about it, if Jesus had not made the right decision to do God’s will, no matter how difficult it was to accept, there would not have been a “RESURRECTION” THREE DAYS LATER.

     We all need to know, that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is the sacrifice God made for us, because he loves us.  He sacrificed his “only Son” to shed his blood on the cross and died.  He was buried in a tomb, but arose and appeared to the disciples out of the tomb on the third day.

     This “Mighty Act Of Obedience” of Jesus, after he conquered death and arose from the grave, brought Light and Life into the world.  It gave us Christians, the opportunity to make right choices just as Jesus did, so that  we can be SAVED.  We can learn from Our Savior and Lord, how to be Obedient, we must do what God’s words tell us to do.     We have been given the “Free Will” to choose “Eternal Life”,  and not Eternal Damnation, because of the shed blood of Jesus.  No other Action, Person, animal, or thing, could have accomplished this for us “ONLY JESUS”.

When I see the picture in my mind, of Jesus, nailed to the cross brutally beaten, bloody, stabbed in his side, head hung down and mocked by men, among many other things, I can’t imagine anyone not wanting to be obedient to God.  For the Wonderful FORGIVENESS AND LOVE he has expressed to us.  We should follow the example of Jesus and always have “The Mind Of Christ.”

In the book of { Hebrews 5: 7- 10} you will find the information below:

       In his life on earth, Jesus made his prayers and requests with loud cries and tears to God, who could save him from death.  Because he was humble and devoted, God heard him.  Even though he was God’s Son, he learned through his sufferings to be obedient.  when he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation, for all those who obey him, and God declared him to be High Priest, in the priestly order of Melchizedek.   { Melchizedek- was the King Of Salem and a Priest Of The Most High God.  The first meaning of Melchizedek’s name is: “King Of Righteousness”; and because he was King Of Salem, his name also means “King Of Peace”  He is “like” the Son of God; he remains priest forever.}

A CLOSING PRAYER: { Hebrews 13: 20- 21 }

God has raised from death our Lord Jesus, who is the Great Shepherd of the sheep as the result of his blood, by which the Eternal Covenant is sealed.  May the God Of Peace provide you with every good thing you need in order to do his will, and may He, through Jesus Christ, do in us what pleases him.  To Christ be the Glory forever and ever!  Amen.

YOUR MIND: How To Stop The Turmoil And Mental Anguish:

     When you find yourselves going through a state of mental torture, turmoil, frustration, feelings of defeat and thinking there is no way out.  You should know what it is, be aware, alert,  and remind yourself when this happens, that this is a “Spiritual war” going on in your head, and it is very real although, it is invisible to the human eye . This is a fight between two spirits.  One is a “Good Spirit, The Holy Spirit” which is from God.  The other is a “Bad Spirit, The Evil Spirit” which is from Satan the devil.

    The  basic nature of man, as created by God was originally good until the evil spirit “Satan” discovered a way to get into” man’s mind”, by using a serpent. During those days serpents could speak, and it spoke to Eve in the “Garden Of Eden, where Adam and his wife  Eve,  were left by God to live and obey God’s words/ laws, replenish the earth and flourish.  Adam and Eve” were created to live holy, happy and prosperous forever.  Satan, didn’t want that and was determined to change it, he wanted them to worship him, not God.  He is still the same today.

      What we need to look at is, that after God gave Adam and Eve his rules to follow, putting his words in their minds, there should NOT have been any other thoughts for them to consider from anyone or anything.  Since that time, evil has been trying to dominate the minds of Human Beings, and will continue until our world comes to an end.  It’s up to us to take back our God given rights, and peace of mind.

Many people may speak about the power of evil, but evil has ”No Power” other than what we Ourselves give it and we must have ”No Fear” of it.  Just a simple example: { When two boxers are in the ring boxing and one takes a punch at the other, the punch itself has no power however, the amount of force the boxer himself puts into the punch is what does the damage.}  We already know, boxing is a” no fear type of sport” therefore, we can see that when the evil spirits come into our minds, we can just “knock Those Evil Spirits Out” by using God’s words.  We don’t even need boxing gloves, we can just speak the words  out, think  them, or meditate on Gods words.

     Then, we can forget about any trouble or problem we might have, leave it to God and go on our merry way.  Rest assured, the devil will keep trying your faith, because he wants to change your mind, make you weak and “break you down”.  You must stay strong, trust God continue resisting the devil.  In the book of { James 4: 7 } the bible tells us:  SUBMIT YOURSELVES THEREFORE TO GOD.  RESIST THE DEVIL, AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU.  DRAW NIGH TO GOD, AND HE WILL DRAW NIGH TO YOU.  CLEANSE YOUR HANDS, YE SINNERS; AND PURIFY YOUR HEARTS,” YE DOUBLE MINDED”.

                                    WHAT TO DO:

The bible tells us, to guard our minds and hearts.  Right there you can easily conclude that God had a specific reason for telling us to do that.  In {Ephesians 2: 10}  we’re told, ” God has made us what we are, and in our union with Christ Jesus he has created us for a life of good deeds”.  The following message comes directly from the bible, it helps explain more of what was stated in previous paragraphs.

 { Ephesians 4: 17-  24, The Good News Bible }

In the Lord’s name, then, I warn you: do not continue to live like the heathen, whose thoughts are worthless and whose “Minds are in the dark”.  They have no part in the lives that God gives, for they are completely ignorant and stubborn.  They have lost all feeling of shame; they give themselves over to vice and do all sorts of indecent things without restraint.  That was not what you learned about Christ!  And as his followers, you were taught the truth that is in Jesus.

So” get rid” of your old self and your old way of thinking, which made you live as you used to {The old self that was being destroyed by it’s deceitful desires }.  YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS MUST BE MADE COMPLETELY NEW, and you must put on the new self, which is created in God’s likeness and reveals itself in the true life that is UPRIGHT AND HOLY.

To simplify things a little more.  When you find yourselves with so many things on your mind ”OVERWHELMED” whatever the reason may be.  Go get your bible, look up a scripture that you feel good about and that relates to your particular situation.  Read it out so the evil spirits can hear it, or you may speak it softly to yourself, or keep thinking and meditating on it.  Whatever is best for you, depending on the environment you’re in at the present time. don’t allow yourself to get caught up on whether it sounds illogical, silly etc.,it’s not.

     Evils spirits, want you to feel silly and uncomfortable when you do this because they know that you are resisting them, and they will have to “Flee”. Remember, { evil can not dwell in the same place where the Holy Spirit dwells }, including God’s words, even spiritual music playing.  NEVER FEAR EVIL, it can’t harm you, unless you allow it.  You don’t have to be concerned “JESUS HAS ALREADY DEFEATED SATAN”. We already have the VICTORY!  be the “Strong Warrior” you are and don’t give up.

Some people find it helpful to write their bible references, or bible  verses on paper carry it with them and read it from time to time during the day or night.  When your thoughts start to overwhelm you, at work, home, on the subway, a restaurant, alone, anywhere and anytime, KEEP THE WORD OF GOD ALIVE AND IN ACTION.  Soon, you will start to feel Peace coming upon you and the turmoil in your mind will cease.  Read or say your scriptures as often as you need to, the devil will flee from you, he’ll see that you have become wise to God’s truth { the word } and the” TRUTH WILL MAKE YOU FREE”.   May God Bless You All And To God Be The Glory Amen.

{ There will be more to come soon, in another article that will be very helpful related to the mind, Topic: “ Put On The Whole Armor Of God”. Don’t miss it, thank you.}

What To Do, When You Don’t Know What To Do?

The answer to the question in the topic above is below:                       { Proverbs 3: 5-12 }

     Trust in the Lord with all your heart. “Lean ”NOT” unto your own understanding”.  Never rely on what you think you know.  Remember the lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.  Never let yourself think that you are wiser than what you are; simply “OBEY THE LORD AND REFUSE TO DO WRONG”.  If you do, it will be like good medicine, healing your wounds and easing your pains.

When the Lord corrects you, pay attention to it and take it as a warning.  The Lord corrects those he loves, as parents correct a child of whom they are proud.

       HONOR THE LORD:  Do this by making him an offering {a percentage}  from the best of all that you possess and what your land, and you produce.  If you do this, you will be blessed more than you could ever think or imagine.  In the “old days” people honored the Lord with the best they had, during their time.  We should honor the Lord with the best we have in our time.  During their time, many had livestock, fouls, other animals, land, crops and whatever they harvested from the crops on their land.

     They also had oils, wine, incense and other things of this kind However, those that understood the concept of honoring and trusting God with what they had much or little, also had a “strong hearts desire” to honor the Lord with love and praise. They also knew he loved them and would bless them “Abundantly”.

There were others from birth, that had an abundance of riches such as, money, silver, gold, diamonds rubies, servants, maidens and more.  Keep in mind that the majority of these particular groups of people were known as Royals: Kings, Queens, Princes and princesses, some were ”masters of their own kingdoms”. They were not all Christians, nor did they believe, or serve the Lord as Christians did then, or as they do today.

There was not an innumerable amount of Billionaires, Millionaires, and even richer people, like we have living among us in this present day.  The overall concept is the same as in the days of old. Today, Some with much riches believe and trust in God, they do seek to serve and praise him, but many only trust in their riches and strive for power and control.  There eyes are blind to, “LEANING TO GOD FOR THEIR UNDERSTANDING”. They lean to themselves and others like them for guidance.

      Their speaking says they do trust God, but their actions “say they don’t”.  The outcome for this will be “Discontentment” here on earth and beyond, their riches will only be an” outward illusion, a false front” of peace, true love and happiness.

{ 1 Samuel 30: 6 }

David was now in great trouble, because his men were all very bitter about losing their children, and they were threatening to stone David; but the Lord his God gave him courage.

{ Job 13: 15 }

Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.

{ Psalm 37: 3- 11 }

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shall be fed.  Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he will bring it to pass. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday.

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his own way, because of the man who brings wicked desires out in the open.  Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not yourself to do evil. Evil doers will be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they will inherit the earth.

For yet in a little while, and the wicked shall not be: thou shall diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. The meek will inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

{ Verse 16 }

A little that a righteous man has, is better than the riches of many wicked.

{ Verse 23-24 }

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delights in his way. Though he fall, he will not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

      For all the things God has done for us past, present, and for what he will do in the future, we need to be thankful “JUST SAY THANKS”.  We should give God praise, in the name of Jesus.

     First let’s look at the word “Thanks”, what it means.  According to the world renowned Webster’s Dictionary, Thanks means- Showing an expression of gratitude, kind or grateful thoughts, To express gratitude to God, before or after a meal etc., To be polite.

Thankfulness-  means to be conscious and express thanks of a benefit or benefits received, To acknowledge that you are well pleased or glad.

Giving Thanks, { Thanksgiving } means – The act of giving thanks, A prayer expressing gratitude, a public acknowledgement or celebration of God’s Divine goodness and mercies.  A show of humility, meaning- The quality or state of being “Humble”.  To be meek, modest, having virtues implicating the “absence” of vanity and arrogance, or vindictiveness, boastfulness, or conceit.

     All of the previous definitions given, by the Grace Of God, can be summed up in three words.  God loves us, and for that reason, he has made all things easy and simple for us through Jesus Christ our Savior . All we have to do is obey these three words: { ”JUST SAY THANKS } and praise his name.

     Nothing however, can ever be finalized or confirmed without full knowledge of what God’s words tell us about saying thanks, or giving thanks therefore, take a look at what the bible gives regarding this topic:

     {  From The Good News Bible, Today’s English Version }

Psalms: 100———–  { A Hymn Of Praise }

      Sing to the Lord, all the world!  Worship the Lord with joy; come before him with happy songs!  Acknowledge that the Lord is God.  He made us, and we belong to him; we are his people, we are his flock.  Enter the temple gates with “Thanksgiving”; go into his courts with praise.  Give “Thanks” to him and praise him.  The Lord is good; his love is eternal and his faithfulness lasts forever.

Psalms: 65————–{ Praise And Thanksgiving }

     O God, it is right for us to praise you in Zion and keep our promises to you, because you answer prayers.  People everywhere will come to you, on account of their sins.  our faults defeat us, but you forgive them.  Happy are those whom you choose, whom you bring to live in your sanctuary.  We shall be satisfied with the good things of your house, the blessings of your sacred temple.

     You answer us by giving us VICTORY, and you do wonderful things to save us.  People all over the world and across the distant seas trust in you.  You set the mountains in place by your strength, showing your mighty power.  You calm the roar of the seas and the noise of the waves; you calm the uproar of the people.  The whole world stands in awe of the great things that you have done.  Your deeds bring shouts of joy from one end of the earth to the other.

Psalms: 67———– { A Song Of Thanksgiving }

God be merciful unto us and bless us; look on us with kindness, so that the whole world will know your will; so that all nations may know your salvation.  May the people praise you,  O God; may all the people praise you!  May nations be glad and sing for JOY, because you judge the people with justice, and guide every nation on earth.  The land has produced it’s harvest; God our God has blessed us; MAY ALL PEOPLE EVERYWHERE HONOR HIM.

Philippians  4  4: 9 ————  { God’s Instructions For Us }

May you always be JOYFUL in your union with the Lord.  I say it again: REJOICE!  Show a gentile attitude toward everyone.  The Lord is coming soon.  Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, ALWAYS ASKING HIM WITH A THANKFUL HEART.  And God’s peace, which is FAR BEYOND HUMAN UNDERSTANDING, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.

  In conclusion, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise:  put into action what you learned and received from me, both from my words and from my actions.  AND THE GOD WHO GIVES US PEACE WILL BE WITH YOU.

The Power Of Prayer, And Why We Must Pray

In the world today, almost everything on earth has some way or means of communication, by being connected to one thing or another in order to make the whole unit work and function properly.  When we look at things on a much higher level, we see God.  We also see an” ocean of the many problems”, trials, and tribulations we have to deal with, knowing we have no escape but to go to God for help. This therefore, leads us to PRAYER.  Prayer, is our “ONLY” way or means of connecting or communicating with God, and by using the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to enter into God’s presence.  There is an old spiritual song, that has these words: “Prayer is the Key that opens Heaven’s doors for me”, how true that is.

When we think about the many ways Human Beings have created, for the purpose of communication, especially in these modern times, you might think prayer would not be the only way to reach God.  Human Beings, with all  their intelligence, cannot invent anything that will modernize, or take the place of PRAYER.  This proves to us that the things of old when it comes to God, never “really” get old.  Prayer, is just as new today as it was in the old days.  We can’t reach God through emails, mail, texts, satellite, telephone, “ carrier pigeon”, beats of a drum, not even by “smoke signals”. ( Just a little humor in the last three.)

Jesus tells us in the Bible { Philippians 4: 5-9 } The Good News Bible, Todays English Version:

Show a gentle attitude towards everyone.  The Lord is coming soon.  Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart.  And God’s peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.  In conclusion, my friends, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable.  Put into practice what you learned and received from me, both from my words and from my actions, and the God who gives us peace will be with you.

PRAISE TO GOD:  { Romans 11: 33-36 }  The Good News Bible, Today’s                                                                          English Version:

How great are God’s riches!  How deep are his wisdom and knowledge!  Who can explain his decisions?  Who can understand his ways?  As the scripture says, “ who knows the mind of the Lord?  Who is able to give him advice?  Who has ever given him anything, so that he had to pay it back?”  For all things were created by him, and all things exist through him and for him.  To God be the glory forever!  Amen.

THE LETTER FROM JAMES ( James, who is said to be the half brother of     Jesus )  The letters from James, is a collection of practical instructions, written to “All God’s People scattered over the whole world. James uses many vivid figures of speech to present instructions regarding practical wisdom and guidance for Christian attitudes and conduct.  From the Christian perspective he deals with a variety of topics such as, riches and poverty, temptation, good conduct, prejudice, faith and actions, the use of the tongue, wisdom,    quarreling, pride and humility, judging others, boasting, patience, and prayer.  The letter emphasizes the importance of actions along with faith, in the practice of the Christian religion.

From James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ: { Greetings to all God’s people all over the world.}   { James 1: 2- 8 }

My friends, count it all JOY, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure.  Make sure that your endurance carries you all the way without failing, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. But if any of you lack wisdom, YOU SHOULD PRAY TO GOD, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.  But, WHEN YOU PRAY.

TESTING AND TEMPTING:  { James: 12-18 }

Happy are those who remain faithful under trials, because when they succeed  in passing such a test, they will receive their reward, the life that God has promised to those who love him. If we are tempted by such trials, we must not say, “This temptation comes from God.”  God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.  We are tempted when we are drawn away and trapped by our own evil desires.  Then our evil desires conceive and give birth to sin; and sin, when it is full grown, gives birth to death.

Do not be deceived, my dear friends! every good gift and every perfect present comes from heaven; it comes down from God, the creator of the heavenly lights, who does not change or cause darkness by turning.  By his own will he bought us into being through the word of truth, so that we should have first place among all his creatures.

Be patient my friends until the Lord comes.  See how patient farmers are as they wait for their land to produce precious crops.  They wait patiently for the autumn and spring rains.  You also must be patient.  KEEP YOUR HOPES HIGH, for the day of the Lord’s coming is near.

Are any among you in trouble? they should Pray.  Are any among you Happy? they should sing praises.  Are any among you sick? they should send for the church elders, who will pray for them and rub olive oil on them in the name of the Lord.  This Prayer made in faith will heal the sick; the Lord will restore them to health, and the sins they have committed will be forgiven.  So then confess your sins to one another, so that you will be healed.  THE PRAYER OF A GOOD PERSON HAS A POWERFUL EFFECT.  Always Remember, Prayer Is The Only Way To communicate with God.  Walking, riding, sitting, standing, lying in the bed, on your knees, doesn’t matter, as long as you humble yourselves in your heart to God and speak the truth from your heart. May Gods Blessings Be With You All Always In Jesus name.
